Hey guys, i'm looking for some advice on tank destroyers. i'm still early on in the US TD's, just got the T40..
i had the t82 before and seemed quite good with it, few kills here and there best 3 during a match and surviving some matches but with the T40 i seem to be dying a lot more and killing even less!
Any tips please guys?
Thanks, Hurri.

well hurri the basics of tank destroyers are:- find a bush and hide in it, therefore camo net is the most essential purchase i can recommend for this trade. Then you can sub specialize depending on your preferred technique. TD tech trees usually provide you with a choice of a large artillery type weapon (usually over 100mm and only good at very short range) which will enable you to do the classic short range mugging where you lie in wait patiently and let the prey come in real close for a 1 or at the most 2 shot finish. Or you can choose the classic snipe setup, where you park far to the rear of the teams advance, preferably on high ground to give the best possible view and spam the enemy with the sniper gun (which is usually the most expensive weapon on the tree and long/high calibre ). This strategy requires a fair amount of skill in leading targets, as it is rare for the enemy to sit still. In addition to the camo net used in the mugging strategy i would recommend scissor sights to extend your viewing range, nothing is more frustrating and demoralizing for the enemy than being hit by a tank they cannot see. Finally , always watch your mini map and keep an eye on the tactical situation, tds are very vulnerable as most drivers tend to become "boresight" fixated and loose situational awareness which leads to them being shot in the side and rear, the tds achilles heel. Also tds are prime artillery targets due to their generally static nature ( beware of the idiot spot, it applies to TDs as well as arty), so if you think you have been spotted, relocate or choose a position arty cant shoot due to hills/rocks or any other type of hard cover. hope this helps

in every tech tree there is a runt and sadly the T40 is it for this tree. it does get better as you upgrade it and the top gun is ok. but do not let it put you off as the M10 is great. as war says td's are support vehicles or snipers, close in with support or hitting from a distance. for most random games sniping is best because you cannot always rely on any support of any kind. if you are platooning then having a td can be a great help as they often have a bigger gun for thier tier and can help drag down bigger prey.always carry some HE just in case, but unless you have a gun larger than 90mm then do not carry to many as the damage it does will be small. the only real advice I can give you is keep going it does get better. snipe as often as you can. shoot and scoot. (fire no more than twice and the move) and good luck.
