ok, lets talk tactics. after only 4 matches in company battles today it is clear we need to learn all the maps and subsiquent tactics for each map. we are not talking desert storm level planning, but just the basics to make us more effective. with little comms and planning, we done pretty well tonight with 3 wins and 1 loss so with a little bit of knowhow, we can improve on that here they are in no particular order:
one: cover both flanks. in a few battles we left a flank open, we must have at least eyes on both flanks and have support if the enemy pushes a flank back. i would suggest at the start of a match, that 2 tanks or TD's spawned left cover the left flank and same for the right flank. if the enemy push all on one flank there is not much you can do, but it is better to slow the flanking move down than leave it unguarded.
two: learn the maps, this is very important as use of terrain can win you the match. find the best cover and if arty target you, keep rocking back and forth, do not make it easy for them. know where the choke points are and let the enemy advance through them.
three: glance at the mini map on a regular basis. be aware of what is happening over the whole battlefield. if 1 flank collapses, the nearest light or medium should go and give eyes on that flank for our arty, as long as it does not compromise the position you are in.
four: know the strengths of your tank and the weakness of the enemy tank. most tanks have the same weak spots on them. hit sides and rear if possible, or tracks to make them easy arty food. american tanks generally have tough turrets and weak hull, germans have a weak lower glacis and russians, well they can be a pain and i still bounce shots from perfect angles, so cross your fingers
these are just a few of my thoughts to make our company battles as successful as possible, and i thought it wasn't too bad tonight. when we all get on voice comms i am sure most of this will be pretty much second nature for all of us. please feel free to add or correct me on anything
fight hard and aim true.
